The 12A certficate introduced by the BBFC 30/8/02 replaces the 12 certificate.

Yes, all commercials need approval from the CAA. Commercials which have not been on TV also need clearance from the BBFC
Film: 35mm, referred to as "prints", "bulks" or "bulk prints"
Slide: referred to as ‘slide advertising’ One per screen for alternate week activity + 20% spares. Two prints per screen for consecutive week activity +20% spares
Bulk prints are made of celluloid (like the film in a camera) and are susceptible to wear and tear, therefore the spare prints are available to replace any that may be damaged.
