Pearl & Dean - The Greatest Name in Cinema Advertising

Cinema admissions

Welcome to the admissions report for June 2010.

June has been another disappointing month for admissions in comparison to last year (although do remember that June 2009 saw admissions grow by 5.6% on 2008 and the release of blockbusters such as Terminator Salvation and Transformers 2 were drawing people to the cinemas.) The good weather and the World Cup this year has meant admissions have fallen -30.1% on June 2009 and alot of this can be attributed to Film Distributors holding back on releasing films around the World Cup, and moving forward the late release of blockbusters should see people return to the big screen!

Sex and The City 2 becomes the peoples favourite for June with mainly May releases keeping the June box office afloat (Robin Hood, Streetdance and Prince of Persia)

Looking ahead to August releases, the kids will have the pick of the crop as the summer family films get released - Cats & Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore, The Last Airbender, Marmaduke and Diary of a Wimpy Kid to name but a few.

Looking even further ahead to the middle of Q4, we will see the return of Harry Potter which is guarenteed to put bums on seats but will also kept amused by Robert Downey Jnr in Due Date and the Jackass pranksters in Jackass.

Thanks and if you have any questions please give me a call.
