Cinema admissions for December stood at 14.6m, down 5% year on year.
The average weekly admissions figure for December was 3.29m.
Q4 admissions are 36.3m, down 18.1% year on year.
Admissions for 2007 stand at 162.4m, 3.7% up year on year, the average weekly figure for the year was 3.12m.
Drawing the kids to the cinema in December was The Golden Compass starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig. It took a whopping £20.9m making it the biggest film during December.
Also performing particularly well was the much awaited I Am Legend from Warner Brothers featuring Will Smith. Released on 26 th December it took a massive £11.6m in its first 6 days.
Another great performer for the month taking £10.8m was Enchanted , released on 14 th December it went on to become the 3 rd biggest film of the month with £10.8m.
Attracting the Christmas crowd Vince Vaughan stars in the film Fred Claus which became the fourth biggest film of the month with £6.4m.
The kids movie Bee Movie was the fifth biggest film taking £5.9m.
