• Cinema admissions for November stood at 13.5m, an increase of a substantial 40.8% year on year.
A strong November has brought the year-to-date to admission figures to 151.9m which is 2.7% higher on same time last year.
The average weekly admissions figure for November was 3.16m.
High School Musical 3 was the main driver of these admissions and the first day of Quantum of Solace helped too as last Ratatouille was the only major release of the month.
The growth in November can be attributed to the fantastic Quantum of Solace, with popular films such as HSM3 and Ghost Town also helping November to be a very healthy month.
The highest grossing film of the month was Quantum of Solace. It took £42.7m in Nov taking its total to £49.6m catching up fast with Casino Royale's £55.6m.
High School Musical 3 provided the kids with their entertainment for the second month and became the 2 nd highest grossing film of November taking a further £6.5m to add to it's £16m amassed in October.
The hilarious Ricky Gervais entertained audiences in Ghost Town to become the 3 rd highest grossing film of the month taking £3.4m.
Vince Vaughn's 2008 Christmas comedy (last year was Fred Claus ) Four Christmases made it to 4 th place taking £2.3m despite releasing on 28 th of November. It has now taken £6.6m in 3 weeks (just shy of the £6.8m Fred Claus took over 7 weeks)
In fifth place, Saw V is proving that the franchise can still pull the punters in!!! Taking £2.3m in November, it takes the total box office takings of all the Saw films to £35.5m.
