• Cinema admissions for October stood at 13.5m, an increase of 3.8% yr on yr
• The moving annual total stands at 168.1m, 2.8% up on the MAT this time last year
• The average weekly admissions figure for October were 3.06m an increase of 4.08%% on average weeks in October 2008
• Admissions this year are now totalling 128.7m (up 2.7%)
• The Final Destination drops out of the top 10 altogether this month and the top spot is replaced by the fantastic Up which has taken an impressive £27.9m since it’s release on 9th Oct.
• Ricky Gervais’ 2nd attempt at a feature film makes it into second place in the top 10. It also manages to push District 9 out of the top 10 from last month.
• The dancing shoes remained on this month as the re-make of FAME released at the end of September and enters the box office @ #3 (moving up from #5 last month) taking £5.2m to date.
• It opened the London Film Festival towards the end of October but still; managed to make it into October’s top 5. Fantastic Mr. Fox took £5m in only 9 days!
