Cinema admissions for May stood at 15.7m up 18.8% year on year. • The average weekly admissions figure for May was 3.55m.
• The third Spider-Man appeared on the big screen on 4 May, taking a massive £11.8m in its' opening weekend and a whopping £31.9m during the month making it the biggest film of the month. It also stands as the biggest film of the year at the end of May.
• In second place was the third Pirates of the Caribbean adventure, released on 25 th May. It took a huge £13.4m in its opening weekend, and £23.9m during the month.
• 28 weeks later was in third place with £4.8m, it tells the story of what happens when the Rage virus hits London .
• Bridge to Terabithia was in fourth place with £4.3m.
• Based on Robert Graysmith's book, Zodiac was in fifth place with £2.4m.
