Cinema admissions for November stood at 9.6m, down 37.9% year on year.
The average weekly admissions figure for November was 2.24m.
Year to date admissions are currently 4.8% up year on year at 148m.
Starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, American Gangster was the biggest film of the month with £6.8m. Based on a true story, it tells the tale of 1970's America where a detective works to bring down the drug empire of Frank Lucas.
Appearing as the second biggest film for the second month running, Stardust continues its success taking £6.2m for the month.
The animated pixar Ratatouille also remains within the top 3 films for the second month, it took £5.6m.
Released on 16 November Beowulf starring Ray Winstone, Robert Wright Penn and Anthony Hopkins appeared as the fourth biggest film of the month with £5.3m.
In fifth position was Elizabeth : The Golden Age, the film is an exploration of the relationship between Elizabeth I and the adventurer Sir Walter Raleigh and features Cate Blachett and Clive Owen. Released on 2 November, it took £4.8m for the month.
Run, Fat Boy, Run continued its success into October and was the fifth biggest film of the month taking £2.8m.
